Includes breakfast and lunch each day, Test and Training Certification upon completion.
Paid Registration must be 6 weeks in advance to allow time for travel arrangements and materials to be compiled.
Class Summary
This training is Classroom and Hands-On-Demonstration training intended for Refrigeration Operators and Plant Engineers that are responsible for the Day-To-Day Operations of the Ammonia Refrigeration System and Experienced Operators that need a 3-Year Refresher Training. This training will focus on the Ammonia Refrigeration System at the plants location and include reviewing the Standard Operating Procedures and Practices for the system.

- Overview of PSM and RMP Program Elements
- Ammonia Awareness Training / HAZ COM
- Daily/Weekly Rounds SOP including normal operating ranges and actions if outside those ranges.
- Ammonia Handheld Detector Meter Use (Demonstration)
- Minor Ammonia Leak (Facility SOP Review)
- Review of facilities Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (Facility Specific)
- Safe Work Practices (Hot Work, Confined Space, Line Break, LOTO)
- Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) Based on Specific Job Task
- Respiratory Protection and proper usage
- Oil Draining Procedure/Locations of Oil Draining (Facility SOP Review)
- Emergency Action Plan and Response
- Emergency Shutdown of System if needed.
- SOP Overview (Location, Content and Guidance on reading SOPS) One SOP for each major Component will be reviewed. This training is not intended for participants to learn how to operate the system.

NOTE: This course is not intended for participants to have the required skills and knowledge to operate the refrigeration system. For further training, see our RETA I and RETA II training courses.
Classroom Type
This is a 3 day (8-hour) comprehensive training course to ensure you know and understand the content of this training.
This training is LIVE and can be delivered: At your facility location, at a Local Area Venue, or at the NH3 Training Center (Montgomery Texas).
Classroom minimum requirement is 10 students. NH3 Training Center of Texas, LLC may cancel this session if the participation goal isn’t met.
The key to the success of this training program is to ensure you will have the necessary knowledge and skill set to perform your job with integrity and quality. Therefore, you will be given Tests throughout the training, to ensure you have learned the materials.
NH3 Training Center of Texas, LLC shall ascertain that each Student has received and understood the training. NH3 Training Center of Texas, LLC will prepare a record which contains the identity of the student, the date of training, and the means used to verify that the student understood the training.
Topics for this training is subject to change based on the need and experience of the students in the training room.
